Representative Perry Thurston Appointed as Democratic Liaison

Representative Perry Thurston was appointed as Democratic liaison to the Florida House Office of Reapportionment. Representative Franklin Sands, Democratic Leader of the Florida House of Representatives, made the announcement just before the beginning of the session’s committee meetings week.  Representative Thurston will be responsible for coordinating with staff and other House members regarding the Democratic Caucus’ interest in matters concerning congressional and legislative reapportionment and redistricting issues.  Representative Sands stated that Representative Thurston’s legal background will be a tremendous asset to the Office given that the responsibility of reapportionment and redistricting, facing the Legislature over the next several years, will be of great long-term importance to the people of Florida.
