4th Annual Light up Sistrunk Event

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. --- State Representative Perry E. Thurston, Jr. (D-Fort Lauderdale), and the Office of State Senator Christopher “Chris” Smith, sponsored a toy giveaway as part of the 4th Annual Light up Sistrunk Event, Friday, December 10, 2010.  The event featured a special Kids Zone with snow to give it that authentic winter wonderland feel.  There were musical performances from two local schools, Parkway Middle School and North Fork Elementary.  There were also guest appearances from the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders and Dolphin Mascot, T.D. The Representative believes that this event is a testament to Commissioner Bobby Dubose and the City of Fort Lauderdale’s commitment to preserving the rich history of the Sistrunk Corridor.
