The 1st Annual Thurston AAA Invitational Baseball Tournament

The 1st Annual Thurston AAA Invitational Baseball Tournament for boys ages 9-10 and 11-12 got off to a great start with its Kick-Off event, Friday April 4th.  We were privileged to have the Mayor of Fort Lauderdale, Jack Seiler, and the Commissioner for the district, Joe Eggelletion in attendance.  The teams, Delray Beach, (two teams 9-10 &
11-12), South Kendall Rays(11-12), Black Sox,(9-10) Team Seminole (11-12), Liga Deportiva La Alta Gracias(9-10) and the Carter Park Kings (two teams 9-10 & 11-12), were in attendance along with an array of family and friends from the community.  The tournament was double elimination, in which each team plays until they lose two games.  In the three day tournament, Liga Deportiva La Alta Gracias was victorious over the Black Sox in a two game final in the 9-10 year old bracket.  Team Seminole took the title for the 11-12 year olds with a victory over the South Kendall Rays.
